Leaving on a Jet Plane

imagesBright and early this morning I headed out for Atlanta, Georgia for the RWA National Conference. For those of you unfamiliar, RWA stands for Romance Writers of America and it’s the professional organization for…well..romance writers. (I know–duh.)

Unlike the reader centric conferences, this week’s events are focused largely on professional development, networking and catching up with my co-workers, who I only see once or twice a year. My schedule, like the other 450+ authors in attendance, will be jam packed from minute one. This week will be filled with seminars, fab luncheons with awesome keynote speakers. This year the speakers are Jill Shalvis, Cathy Maxwell and Kristin Higgins. Not too shabby.

There are also a couple of great reader events, so if you’re in the area, I hope you’ll come by and see me.

2013 “Readers for Life” Literacy Autographing  No entry fee and open to the public!

Wednesday, July 17
5:30–7:30 p.m.
Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Atrium Ballroom A–C (Atrium level)

Note: Please help us raise money for literacy by purchasing books at the event instead of bringing books from home to be signed.

Then at 3pm on Saturday, July 20 I’ll be at the Sourcebooks signing event. I believe you have to purchase an RWA pass for the publisher specific signings.

I’m not going to lie…this trip is always a lot of fun too! Sourcebooks, my fab publisher, always hosts their authors to a wonderful dinner and this year is no different. I can’t wait to see where we’re going and  how we’re getting there. Usually it’s stretch limos or a party bus! I’m also up for the PRISM Award for UNTAMED and will be attending the awards ceremony on Thursday night. Then of course on Saturday is the big RITA awards and dinner. The RITA is basically the Oscar of romance writing. It’s a fancy affair and always such a thrill to see the nominees and winners. Great fun all around!

I’ll be sure to post lots of pics on FB and Twitter but won’t have access to my website until I get home.

Dream on….
